Serena Gardner, BS, LVT
Serena Gardner has been working with Dr. Langerhans since 2007 at VCA Fort Worth Animal Medical Center. When he started I-20 Animal Hospital in September 2010 Serena followed Dr. Langerhans and has been here since the beginning. Serena attended the University of Wisconsin and earned her Bachelors of Science. She was also concurrently enrolled in Madison Area Technical College where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.
She is amazing with our feline patients and has 3 cats of her own, Swivel, Foos, and Squeak. Serena is an avid kite boarder and loves spending time riding her sports bike and doing home remodeling projects.
Nita Farris, LVT
Nita Farris joined I-20 Animal Hospital in May 2015. Nita attended Cedar Valley College and received her Associates Degree in 1982.
Nita was born and raised in the Fort Worth area. She has 2 beloved dogs, Della Louise and Bowser J. Bowser, a miniature horse named Stealth and a menagerie of cats. When she is not tending to her farm of animals, she has her own salsa making business which keeps her very busy. She also enjoys car shows, music, and dancing. Nita is an avid animal rescuer and helps the local shelters when she can. We are glad to have her as part of our team.
Josh is originally from San Diego, CA but has been living in Texas for many years. He has 20 + years of experience in Emergency Critical and Specialty care. Josh joined I-20 Animal Hospital in July 2014. With his phenomenal amount of knowledge that he has worked so diligently to obtain over the years, he has been a great addition to our hospital staff and tends to be our fellow technicians go-to guy with questions. Josh has 5 dogs and 2 cats of his own and enjoys spending time with his wife Kim.
Kim joined I-20 Animal Hospital July 2014 and has many years of experience in critical and emergency care medicine. She is a very hard worker and her compassion really shows in every task that she completes. Kim, with all of her devotion for what she does, seems to allow her to gain the most utmost respect and trust in the patients and clients under her care.
Kim is originally from Columbus, Ohio and is married to Josh and together they have 5 dogs and 2 cats. Kim enjoys watching movies, cooking, and reading books.
Rachell Smith, LVT
Rachell joined I-20 Animal Hospital August 2014 and has years of experience in emergency animal medicine, and critical care experience. She is incredibly intelligent and has inconceivable passion for each and every animal that walks through the door. Rachell graduated with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science from Penn Foster Veterinary Technology program in April 2016 earning her LVT.
Rachell is married to Andrew who is a police officer for the City of Fort Worth. Together they have 6 dogs named, Bailey, Ruebic, Roxie, Deuce, Fiona and Cooper. She also has 9 chickens, and Piper the squirrel. Rachell enjoys biking, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Beth Gilbert, LVT
Beth joined our hospital staff in April 2014. Prior to joining our clinic, Beth gained a number of years of experience working at other clinical, surgical, and laboratory environments. She attended Cedar Valley College and got her Associate's Degree in applied science in Veterinary Technology in 2011. Beth has 2 dogs and 1 cat. There is Maple, a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and Jelly, the new kid who is a Shepherd mix. Beans is the cat of the household and rules the roost. Beth really enjoys spending time at the beach and the lake.
Susan Brown joined I-20 Animal Hospital in March of 2015 and brings 27 years of technical experience with her. Susan is originally from California but moved to Texas in 1990.
Susan has 2 German shepherds named Ruger and Uzi, and a little mix breed named The Scruffanator. Her dogs are her life. Susan enjoys riding her motorcycle and helping children in need during her spare time and is a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse. She also enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening.
Krista was added to our ever growing team in September, 2015. She is originally from Midland, TX. She is a very intelligent and bright individual who is currently attending Tarleton State University working on her pre-vet studies. She is looking to gain experience at our facility until it is time for her to go off on her big adventures to veterinary school. In her free time she utilizes her husbandry skills and shows a variety of livestock.
Vanessa Adkins, LVT
Vanessa Adkins graduated with her Associates degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley College in 2006. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with 10 years of experience. We were thrilled to add her to our clinic team in June 2016. The knowledge she has gained over the years accompanied with her passion for the profession makes her a great asset to the team. Vanessa's husband is an Arlington police officer. Together they have 3 children named Caleb, Junior, and Addie. She has a house full with 2 great danes, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 1 turtle, and a number of pet frogs of which the number changes based on how many the kids catch and release that day. She enjoys horseback riding and has a horse, Mikey, who is in the Arlington PD mounted unit.
Anthony joined our I-20 Animal Hospital in April 2017. Anthony grew up in Elsa, Texas. He attended the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School, and has four years of experience working with emergency and critical care animals.
Anthony has four dogs; an English Bulldog, a French Bulldog, and two Great Danes. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, Anthony has been around and loved animals all his life. Anthony also enjoys volleyball and workouts.
Anthony now attends the University of North Texas.
Stephanie joined I-20 Animal Hospital July 2018 with years of experience in critical and emergency care medicine since 2007. She enjoys communicating with the clients and educating them on what their pets need to stay healthy. "Our doctors are great to work with and stay updated on the most recent advancements in veterinary medicine. I cannot imagine myself working anywhere but I-20 Animal Hospital.” In her down time she enjoys cooking, and spending time with her family.
Jeramiah joined us originally in 2015 but left and rejoined us again September 2018 for his second tour. He brings over 10 years of small animal practice in all facets from general practice to critical care and neurology. In his spare time he enjoys staying in shape, attending local sporting events, working cattle and cutting hay with childhood friends.
Kate started with us on September 2018. Katie grew up in Grapevine, TX and has always loved animals. Kate has been in the veterinary field since 2015. In her spare time she works with horses on the weekends and loves British history, video games and her Pembroke corgi, Major.
Jaclyn joined I-20 Animal Hospital January 2019. She started in the animal field as a kennel technician working her way over the years to help in all positions including emergency nursing care. She graduated with an Associate's Degree from Tarrent County College. Jaclyn's passion is caring for her patients and staying updated in her field, " I love to learn about health, nutrition, and teaching others what I have learned".
Jaclyn resides in Fort Worth, TX with two felines named Mia, Lulu and her son Johnathan. When not at work you can find her camping, fishing, spending time outdoors, reading Sci-fi novels or doing yoga.
Christina joined us in May 2019. She was originally born in Tahlequah, OK but was raised in Ft. Worth TX. Christina has been in the veterinary field since 2010. Her expertise is in emergency medicine, surgery. "I cannot imagine my life without having animals around me." When not at work you can find her spending time with her son Asher, her friends and her boxer Abby.
Laycie joined our team in May 2019. Even as a young girl she knew that working with animals was her passion. She has been in the field since 2015 working in emergency, wellness and specialty medicine. Laycie is currently attending Tarrant County College and is a Certified Veterinary Assistant from Cedar Valley College. In her down time she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Tyson.
Kim joined our team in October 2019. Originally from Frankin, Wisconsin, Kim attended classes at the Colorado State University, receiving her Bachelors in Equine Science. Kim has worked in mixed & small animal emergency and critical care for over 5 years.
In her down time she enjoys spending time running, photography, and spending time at the lake with her dog Rowdy.
Michael joined our team at I-20 Animal Hospital in December, 2019. Originally from San Isidro, Texas, Michael attended classes at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School (UTRGV).
Michael has worked in emergency and critical care for several years. Part of Michael’s technician experience was in the Valley where the only veterinarian emergency clinic was 3 hours away.
Michael is loved by his Great Dane, Dawn, Enzo a domestic shorthair, and a French Bulldog named Stitch. In his spare time, Michael plays volleyball at an open gym or competes in volleyball tournaments. If there isn’t a game, you will find Michael chillaxing with his beloved dogs.
Jaclyn was born in Corpus Christi, TX and moved to Fort Worth in 2005. She graduated from North Crowley High School in 2011 with her CVA certificate. In 2015 she graduated Cedar Valley College as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Jaclyn has found her passion in working with emergency and critical care animals. In her space time she is devoted to her family with her two girls, and two cats named Bully, and Beast.
